Meet the instructors behind South West Twerk School.

Emilia-Jane

Emilia-Jane - Instructor

Emilia-Jane danced from the age of 4 years old in ballet, modern, tap, irish and street and loved performing on stage. After falling away from dance during her tumultuous teenage years, she returned to dance in the form of hula-hooping at age 18. She began performing in her early 20's as part of a circus troupe, performing as a multi-hoop fire and LED performer at local venues and festivals.

Her dance practice developed as she studied Human Ecology, permaculture and Menstrual Cycle Awareness - beginning to explore African and Caribbean dance styles. She studied women's yoga, yoga nidra and herbalism whilst exploring moving with nature.

Meeting Sarah and co-founding the South West Twerk School in 2024 brought together her love for embodied movement, cyclical living, afro-caribbean dancing and building community. Her passion is creating brave spaces for women to connect with their bodies, pelvis and bliss body through yoga, dance and sisterhood.

Sarah

Sarah - Instructor

Sarah danced from 5 to 16 years old in tap, ballet, modern, hiphop and street dance. She was introduced to Dancehall music at 17 and became obsessed with Twerk and started self teaching from dance music videos across various genres including RnB, HipHop and Dancehall.

She then embarked on a 16 year career in Physiotherapy specialising in Women's health but twerk would always be with her on the dancefloors across London.

Sarah believes that the key to connecting to your essence and living an abundant life is by dancing every day with your whole body and this is what Twerk embodies. Sarah brings Women's Health and joy together in her classes, courses and workshops creating infectious and addictive wellbeing produced from the core of your being, your pelvis.

Meeting Emilia-Jane and co-founding the South West Twerk School in 2024 developed the perfect outlet for all her learnings.

Jazz

Jazz - Instructor

I am a lover of life. Born and raised festival fairy. Bringing people together, creating safe spaces and exploring the magic of this existence is what brings me joy.

Twerk has taught me so much about self love and I am very blessed to be able to share that. I believe that we all deserve to feel free within this vessel and what is a more beautiful way to do that than to twerk. Booty shaking is a love language. The Twerk After Work community feels like home.
